1801 Titicaca

1801 Titicaca, provisional designation , is a stony asteroid from the asteroid belt, about 23 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by Argentine astronomer Miguel Itzigsohn at La Plata Observatory in the capital of the province of Buenos Aires on 23 September 1952.〔
The S-type asteroid orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.8–3.2 AU once every 5 years and 3 months (1,917 days). With a semi-major axis of 3.02 AU, an eccentricity of 0.07 and an inclination of 11 degrees, the body is a typical member of the Eos family of asteroids.〔〔
It has a rotation period of 3.2 hours〔 and a geometric albedo between 0.12 and 0.17 based on observations of the WISE/NEOWISE missions and derived calculations by the LCDB project, respectively.〔〔
The asteroid is named after Lake Titicaca in the Andes, on the border of Peru and Bolivia at an altitude of above sea level, the largest lake by volume in South America and one of the largest and highest lakes in the world.〔
